Asterisco is not a technology company.
It is a cultural studio that uses technology. This page explains why it exists, what we believe, how we work and who we are.
No two cultural organisations are alike. Each one has a history, a structure and a way of working built up over time.
That is why we don’t believe in solutions that arrive with pre-designed processes and force institutions to adapt to them.
Asterisco exists to do the opposite. We start by understanding how your organisation actually works and what it really needs. From there we design solutions that respect your context, build on your capabilities and make technology work for your institution, not the other way round.

Every cultural institution has its own history, its own team, its own way of working. Systems are designed around that, not against it.
Artificial intelligence is a tool.
Not the focus.
We use artificial intelligence when it adds real value: listening to audiences at scale, turning scattered information into decisions, making an institution’s memory searchable. Never as a spectacle. Good technology doesn’t need to announce itself.
Asterisco doesn’t replace people.
It strengthens teams.
The goal is not to cut staff. It is to free up your team’s time for the substantive cultural work that only people can do.

We don’t believe in piling up tools. We believe in essential systems, well designed and sustainable over time.
We always start by understanding your organisation. How the team works, what friction shows up day to day, how decisions get made, what history the current processes carry. Without that reading, any system we proposed would be arbitrary.
From that reading we design a bespoke architecture. We make technical decisions based on concrete problems. If something has no clear reason to exist, it doesn’t go in. Then we build and document it so the system lives inside your organisation.
Systems change as your organisation changes. That is why we stay with them over time: adjustments, improvements, monitoring and reviews. Design and build create the system, maintenance keeps it running.

Art historian, with a BA from Regent’s University (London), an MA in History of Art from University College London and an MA in Arts Management & Administration from SDA Bocconi (Milan). Trained and built a career between London, New York and Milan, working as a curator and alongside galleries on both sides of the Atlantic.
Founder of spazio[AM]arte, a travelling project dedicated to bringing art to new audiences, and a collaborator with Universidad de Montevideo. At Asterisco, leads the relationship with organisations: translating the studio’s cultural outlook into the needs of each project, developing institutional relationships and bringing a strategic perspective built on curatorial judgement, a feel for narrative and a close knowledge of audiences.
Economist and cultural manager.
Works where data, processes and technology meet.
Economist, graduate of Universidad de Montevideo, with an MA in Arts Management & Administration from SDA Bocconi (Milan). Built a career leading international projects in digital transformation, process optimisation and data analytics, working with multidisciplinary teams across several countries.
At Asterisco, shapes the studio’s silent infrastructure. Designs information systems, automations and integrations that turn complex processes into simple, sustainable tools, bringing in artificial intelligence and applied technology to strengthen what cultural organisations are able to do.
